Lanhydrock
Set in 450 acres of woods and parkland. Dating from the 17th century but largely rebuilt after a fire in 1881. Lanhydrock has 50 rooms on show giving a glimpse into the life of a Victorian country house from the children's nursery wing and the splendid comforts of the state rooms to the warren of kitchens, larders and sculleries below stairs.
The Castle dates from the early years of the Norman conquest. Towering over the town, it was a reminder of the power of the Earls (later Dukes) of Cornwall.
The Jamaica Inn, Cornwall's most famous coaching house and which appears in Daphne du Maurier's novel of the same name, has stood high above Bodmin Moor for over four hundred years.
