Treetops Lodges
The same family has owned Treetops for 12 years. It can be found tucked away, just off the village next to the grade 2 listed church of St Mary. Surrounded by an area of outstanding beauty, Treetops covers 12 acres, with six of those dedicated to the development of 21 Nordic pine lodges with views across the rolling countryside towards the coastline.

The original holiday park was built in the early 1960's, to which the lodges served as holiday accommodation until 2005. Although only a stones throw from the popular local beaches and attractions, Treetops offers a more peaceful retreat, away from the maddening crowds and fits in well with the local community.

The lodges are supplied by Honka (Finland), a world leader in its field. They are one of the first house manufacturers in the world to receive ETA (European Technical Approval) and accordingly the right to use the CE mark. CE mark is an official symbol that indicates the building product directive set by the EU.

We at Treetops, have carefully chosen Honka lodges for their quality, and environmental ethics. After visiting their factory in Finland we are satisfied that in partnership with Honkarrenne of Finland, Treetops could offer the best lodges available on the market. This combined with our interests in sustainability and low carbon emission enables us to offer a product un-rivaled, at this present moment, in England.

The Environment
The developers at Treetops lodges have worked hard to design a park that provides sustainable living.

environmentThe lodges are made from Nordic pine, 210mm logs sculptured and pegged with traditional square pegs. This in itself provides natural thermal insulation, which means your lodge will be cool in the summer, but will retain the heat in the winter. The lodges have been built to survive the Finnish winters (down to 35°C).

However, the lodges are built to full British building regulations. The internal walls are clad with 40mm Kingspan insulation and finished with 45mm log cladding.

Treetops LodgesTreetops Lodges have chosen Honka lodges (Finland), not only for the quality of their lodges, but for their conservation and recycling practicies.

Carbon FootprintEvery care has been taken to reduce the carbon footprint. Under floor heating combined with air source heat pumps, 9-watt halogen recessed spot lighting Grade A rated kitchen appliances.

Air SourceAn air source heat pump will run the under floor heating and hot water systems. This system converts the water and heating, by extracting the heat from surrounding air, to between 35-45°C. It is then top up to a maximum of 75°C with an emersion heater and stored in an insulated water cylinder. We expect to make savings of around 50% per annum compared to the cost of a conventional system based upon gas, oil or electricity.

BoreholeA borehole has been drilled to provide water for the lodge. Each lodge is linked to a storm water collection system which collects the excess water in a pond and we are hoping eventually to pump it back to the lodges for use as brown water (non-drinking water)

Rain WaterRain water is collected as above. However, each lodge has a rainwater collection butt for general gardening use.

Rain WaterThe surrounding ground is landscaped to encourage the native wildlife.
