Altarnun
is one of the most beautiful villages in North Cornwall.
It has a most tranquil appeal about it to the visitor coming
into the village from the old A30 (now replaced by a dual-carriageway
running alongside), you descend the hill into the village
and approach the village stores.
The
houses have a distinct feel about them of being part of
a quaint village. Moving around the bend of the village
you are presented with a most exquisite view of the church,
sitting just over an ancient bridge under which runs a
lively little stream. It is distinctly quiet and peaceful
at this point and despite the roar of modern transport
the village still manages to portray the sort of atmosphere
that is so rapidly disappearing from village life. |
