St Breward
St Breward
St Breward Church St Breward lies on the edge of Bodmin Moor surrounded by moorland and steep sided river valleys.

The village itself consists of a number of small hamlets now merged together but still retaining their names and unique character.

The church is named after the 6th century Cornish Saint Branwalader (meaning "Raven Lord").
St Breward Village

Although the church is 12th century it was enlarged in the 15th century.

Inside there are there are still Norman pillars in the nave. Like so many local churches in the land they hold many stories of the past - here is also a memorial to one of the local vicars - Lewis Adams and his wife, a vicar during the time of the Armada.

St.Breward has one of the highest sited churches in Cornwall and is also one of the largest, rewarding the climber with a magnificent view over the land through which the River Camel meanders.
