St. Gennys is a delightful little village perched 400 feet up on the
cliff side just above Crackington Haven - it clings to the hillside and
looks out to the great headlands which drop sheer down to the sea. The
churchyard is so steep that one of its paths is almost level with the roof.
The first 'church' consisted of a 'Holy Well', a stone cross set up near
by and the hut(s) for the evangelist monks. |
| The church as we see in the picture going through the gate
is 15th Century but parts of the church are from the Norman 12th century. Looking for accommodation in St. Gennys? Click here to visit the Trevigue Wildlife Conservation web site. |
